Information on personal protection recommended to benefit from medical personnel under the threat by coronavirus COVIT-19 (half-mask, safety goggles, protective FACIAL screens, known as helmets protective clothing, protective gloves) Due to numerous inquiries from stakeholders, the State Agency for Metrology and Technical Supervision (SAMTS), as the competent authority for the supervision of personal protective equipment (PPE), informs the public about the requirements of European legislation on PPE. The European Commission (EC) recommends that medical staff use PPE in the face of the COVIT-19 threat, as physicians are considered to be in a high-risk environment while treating patients with Coronavirus. The recommended PPE are: HALF MASK, SAFETY GLASSES, PROTECTIVE SCREENS, known as HELMETS, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, PROTECTIVE GLOVES. The EC has adopted Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on PPE, hereinafter "the Regulation", which sets out essential and additional requirements for "Protection against substances and mixtures that are hazardous to health and against harmful biological agents", in this number: The legislator has provided for these products to have the highest degree of protection. Ie they are of category III, which includes only the risks that can cause very serious consequences, such as death or irreversible damage to the health of the user.
